Marion Ullman passed away on February 8, 2025, in Hamilton, NJ, at the age of 101.
Marion Ullman (Nee Baron) was born in Bronx, NY, on July 5, 1923, and grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Marion graduated from Brooklyn College, City University of New York.
In 1946, Marion married Lloyd L. Ullman. They often spent their summers traveling (Marion drove) and taking pictures maintained as slides. Marion also worked as a bookkeeper in Manhattan for several years. Marion and Lloyd had a son, Larry, in 1949.
Marion and Lloyd relocated to the Jersey Shore in the late 1970s. Marion was a prolific, skilled, and proud member of her local embroiderers guild. She was an avid soap opera watcher, with an elaborate system of VHS recorders to ensure that she was able to watch them all.
Marion drove safely well into her 90s and was a great lover of Apple products. She was very tech-savvy despite her advanced age, as her repertoire included a computer, Apple Watch, iPad, and iPhone, and she mostly communicated with family through text messages. Leading up to holidays and birthdays, she would spend days meticulously creating greeting cards for her family members. In her later years, she enjoyed watching MSNBC and Villanova basketball while simultaneously texting her thoughts to her grandchildren. Marion could be a bit prickly but was extremely smart and wise. Although it was difficult for her to express it in conventional ways, she was very proud of her family and especially loved seeing pictures of her great-grandson.
Marion is predeceased by her brother, Ned, and her husband, Lloyd. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Larry and Renee Ullman, grandson David Ullman, granddaughter Stephanie (Matthew), and great-grandson Constantine.
Donations in her honor may be made to the Embroiderers Guild of America
Services and burial were private at Mount Ararat Cemetery in Lindenhurst, NY.
