Carol Cottrell

Carol Ann Cottrell passed away at home, Monday, August 19, 2024.  She was 85.

Born in Monessen, PA, she moved to New Jersey in her teens.  A resident of Pennington, NJ for fifty years, she was a graduate of Hamilton High School and Mercer Hospital School of Nursing.  She helped support her family as a registered nurse working night shift at Greenwood House Nursing Home, but happily retired in the early 80’s.

She was a member of Central: A Christ-Centered Church in Ewing, NJ for 50+ years where she served as a greeter in the 70’s until her mobility declined.  She then became a prayer warrior for all those she knew and loved.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crochet and cooking.

Carol was a loyal and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend and will be missed by all.

She was predeceased by her mother Anna Lou Kormuth, step-father William Kormuth, father Elliott Tressler, sister Marilyn Cottrell, and son-in-law Douglas Belliveau.  She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years Lewis W. Cottrell, Jr., her daughters and son-in-law: Lori Belliveau, Beth and Nick Haluszka; her grandchildren: Katelyn Belliveau, Rebecca Belliveau, Daniel Haluszka, and Emma Haluszka.  She is also survived by her brother-in-law Charles F. Cottrell, Sr., sister-in-law Mabel Carpenter; and her nieces and nephews: Deborah and Robert Phillips, Donna and Carlo Montalbano, Chuck and April Cottrell, Bonnie Zarkar, Alan Carpenter and many grand and great nieces and nephews.

A party celebrating Carol’s life will be held on ­September 14th at Central: A Christ-Centered Church, 2015 Pennington Rd, Ewing Township, NJ 08618.
