Phyllis Byer, age 95, of New York City, passed away March 27, 2023.
She was born and raised in Hartford CT. She moved to NYC by the late 40’s and worked several jobs including a film house as a secretary where she met her husband of 41 years Larry Byer (d. 2006) of Trenton, NJ. Phyllis went on to work as an assistant to a literary agent and as a data collector for the Consumer Price Index, United States Government until her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed travel, theatre, humor, family, friends and ending the day with a cocktail.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Maggie Byer-Sprinzeles (Michael), grandsons Max and Paul Sprinzeles, brother in law Rick Byer (Mary Lou), several nieces and nephews including Michelle Hetrick (Virgil) and David Byer (Lauren).
Funeral services and burial are 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 29 at Ewing Cemetery, 78 Scotch Road, Ewing, NJ.

My Dear Maggie and Family,
While I am deeply saddened by the news of Phyllis’ passing, I am grateful for the level of comfort and care you all were able to provide during her final days.
I will always remember Phyllis as a kind woman, with a sharp wit and fantastic sense of humor. She treated our close-knit group of adolescent schoolmates as young adults, and graciously afforded us all the leeway and freedoms we could ever have hoped to receive.
I am holding the Byer-Sprinzeles family closely in my heart, and sending my deepest condolences to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Phyllis Byer.
May her memory be for a blessing.
