EWING… Mickey Noonan, 55, passed away May 5, 2017.
Born in Glendale, CA, he grew up in California and Pennsylvania, eventually moving to New Jersey. He was a proud Eagle Scout, earning many scouting records. He went on to establish the first scout troop for ARC (for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities), where he was an assistant director. He was a graduate of Bishop Egan High School, where he proudly served as the school mascot, and he attended Trenton State College. Starting in high school, he worked as a disc jockey and also managed a bowling alley. More recently, he worked as a regional manager at several KFC locations for Summerwood Corporation, a company he was devoted to and incredibly proud to be a part of. He was a merchandiser for American Greetings for the last 9 years.
A reluctant fan of the Rams, he was an avid fan of Star Trek, comic books, and everything Elvis. He was a life-long camper, preferring tenting to RV camping. Mickey loved the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and stopped counting his number of viewings after 300. He was a devoted father to his two sons, for whom he was willing to do anything, and was an animal lover who rescued multiple pets.
Mickey is survived by his two sons, Daniel Noonan and Anthony Noonan, his mother and step-father, Jacqueline and John Spyra, two brothers, Danny Noonan and Tim Noonan, and a sister, Pat Ulerick.
Funeral services are 11AM Friday, May 12, at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Rd, Ewing. Calling hours are 10AM to 11AM the day of the service. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Lambertville.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Association (RSDSA) to help continue the fight against RSD that Mickey fought for almost two decades.
What a wonderful life Mickey had. Loving parents, meaningful hobbies and interests that helped others, and a love of animals. I am sure he will be missed by his loved ones and community. Thinking of all of Mickey’s family and hoping you are doing well.
