1986 – 2021

Rachel Shabana Pucciatti passed away tragically on November 13, 2021. She was 34.

Born in Mumbai, India, she came to this country on November 20, 1987, just two days before her first birthday to join her parents, Joseph and Sandra Pucciatti.

After graduating from Hamilton High School West, she graduated from Mercer County Vocational School where she received her Cosmetology and Hairstyling license. Rachel worked at a number of hair salons and food establishments, most recently at the Asbury Park IHOP.

She was a member of Congregation Beth Chaim in Princeton Junction, where she became a Bat Mitzvah and Confirmand. She later worked at Beth Chaim’s Pre-School.

Rachel was a great lover of animals and cared for her toy poodle, Kelsi, for 15 years. A volunteer at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, she was a sweet, delicate and giving young lady who was always open to helping others.

Rachel is survived by her loving parents Joseph and Sandra Pucciatti, Aunts and Uncles Jerry and Wendy Milstein, Lisa and John Bronski, Leonard and Melinda Pucciatti, Cousins John and wife Brittany Bronski, Jason Milstein, Rebecca and husband Brad Shoyer, Arielle and husband Casey Milstein Brennan, and numerous extended family members across the country. She is predeceased by maternal grandparents Harvey and Beverly Milstein and paternal grandparents Vincent and Jean Pucciatti, as well as numerous grand-aunts and grand-uncles.

Funeral services are Thursday, November 18 at 10:00 am at Congregation Beth Chaim, 329 Village Road East, Princeton Junction, NJ. Masks are required for all attendees.

Burial will follow at Congregation Brothers of Israel Cemetery, 1100 Cedar Lane, Hamilton Township, NJ.

Shiva will be observed at the Pucciatti residence on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday, Nov. 20 from 6pm to 9pm, with a minyan service held on Thursday evening at 7:30pm.

I had the pleasure of speaking to Rachel on many occasions at the post opera dinners.
