Peter Reich

Peter Reich, a devoted and loving husband, father and friend, passed away on October 14, 2021 at the age of 77 after a courageous battle with Scleroderma and lung disease. Peter is survived by his wife, Patricia, and two daughters, Melissa (Seth Bohnker) and Allison (Jeff Eller).

Peter was known to his family and friends as a generous, witty, and loving person. Growing up in the Bronx, he was an avid Yankees fan. He loved traveling, taking adventures, and enjoying different cuisines, especially Chinese food and pizza at his favorite restaurants. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.

Retired from the U.S. Treasury Office of the Comptroller of the Currency where he met his wife and made many lifelong friends, and as a banking consultant, Peter led a successful and fulfilling career.

Funeral services will be private. Donations may be sent in Peter’s memory to Congregation Beth Chaim or to the Scleroderma Research Foundation.

This summarized Peter so perfectly. He always put family first above everything. I’m going to miss our Yankee talks and his words of wisdom that was so spot on. It has been a tough battle but at least he’s at peace. He has left a legacy unmatched by anyone.

Peter was one of the most caring men I’ve ever met. We only spent four months a year together in Florida , but they were well spent. His generous offers of help to me will never be forgotten. My enduring memory of him will be the joy he exuded at Allison’s wedding.

In a short amount of time I have been very fortunate to meet Peter and learn what a kind and caring person he was, I am blessed to have been able to call him “my friend” and I will miss him and hope he is at peace, free of all pain and suffering!

With deepest and heartfelt sympathy on the great loss of a perfect gentleman. Peter was a loving husband, devoted father, and treasured friend (to us for 50+ years). He was an inspiration to all who had the good fortune of knowing him. A true mech in every sense of the word. We will certainly miss his daily calls and his positive outlook on life. May his good, golden name, and all of our beautiful and fond memories of “Our Peter” live on forever as he rests in Paradise.
