Cheryl Weinstein

Cheryl Weinstein passed away peacefully at home in Newtown, PA, on September 21 with her loved ones at her side after battling a rare cancer.  She was born and raised in Trenton, NJ, and was known to her family and friends as a generous, loving person. Those who knew Cheryl best saw her as a shining light of kindness, acceptance and compassion.

While always understated when it came to talking about her professional accomplishments, Cheryl was highly respected in her chosen field, pharmaceutical clinical research and development.  Her efforts were recognized as instrumental in the development of pioneering medications in cancer and cardiovascular disease that continue to benefit countless lives. What she loved most about her efforts was working alongside brilliant and dedicated people at extraordinary medical centers and industry laboratories across the U.S.

Predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Leon Weinstein and beloved brother-in-law, Loren Lavine, who died far too young, Cheryl is survived by her loving sister Lauren Lavine, who provided devoted care during her illness, her best friend and dog Tucker, her aunt and uncle, many cousins and numerous friends, who she cherished and always believed she was fortunate to have in her life. She always said that what was most important in any life is to believe that you can matter. For those of us who were lucky enough to have her in our lives — and for those she helped through her work — Cheryl mattered. Her gentle caring spirit, sense of humor, quick wit and wondrous smile that lit up a room made our lives better and will all be sorely missed.

Funeral services were held at Ewing Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid-Atlantic English Springer Spaniel Rescue (MAESSR) or to a charity of your choice.

    Dearest Cousin Zuvvie:
We mourn and grieve with you, and with all of Cheryl’s, Z’L, family and friends. Never did the thought pass my mind that Cheryl , an integral part of my life for 69 1/2 years, would be gone from it. Every simcha we had, we shared in joy. Every life’s tzouras we consoled each other. When we communicated with each other circa Rosh HaShana, I had no clue that she was not well. We are so sad for you, dear Zuvvie. May the Omnipresent One comfort you with all those who mourn for a loved one in Zion and Jerusalem. May the name of Cheryl Weinstein be for an eternal blessing. Love, Shalom, cousins Arthur and Ellen

    Zuvvie —

I am so sorry to hear of Cheryl’s passing. She always had a wonderful smile and expressed interest in everyone. We became reacquainted when Cheryl was a drug study monitor in my husband’s rheumatology practice. I always enjoyed our chats when we would bump into each other around town. She will be greatly missed. May her memory be a blessing.

Lauren after talking to you on the phone i remembered that i had not told you the obit was the most beautfiul i have ever seen. I will always remember our last lunch at Blue Sage (November 2019) and our last conversation when she listened with such caring. She always knew how much i loved hearing about Tucker and she gave me a beautiful cat tote bag in memory of my favorite cat. We became friends after bumping into each other at Newtown Vet. She is probably buried near my parents so i can go there at some point. My most sincere condolences
