Mildred Taksler, age 96, of Clearbrook in Monroe Township, passed away May 1, 2020.
Hilarious, loving and kind, Millie touched all who met her. Family and friends were everything to her and she always radiated warmth, strength, and a positive attitude. For Millie, the simple, fundamental things mattered most: People to love, music to dance to, and laughs to share.
Millie was one of the first employees of the United Nations, where she worked as a proofreader and was one of only a dozen employees to be offered a lifetime contract. She loved her career path, which also included time at the War Department, a detective agency, and in the NY public school system.
Beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Taksler, Millie was a cherished mother to Stephen & Sharon and Alan & Barbara, grandmother to Glen & Talia and Sara & Zohar, and great-grandmother to Micah Aidan, Hunter and Tyler.
Private funeral services and entombment were Sunday, May 3 at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to Tara’s Starfish Foundation www.TarasStarfishFdn.org
