Arthur J. Ross, 78, of Hamilton Township, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a graduate of the High School of Music & Art. After graduation, he found work at The New Yorker magazine as a pressman. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted and served in the US Army, stationed in Germany. He married in 1965, in Pennsylvania, before settling in Monroe Township, NJ in 1972 to raise his children Michelle and Adam. Arthur was more recently a resident of Hamilton Township, where he had lived for the past 17 years.
With his comedic personality and quick wit, he found work as an employment recruiter in New York City and spent the next 35 years working in the city he truly loved and finding the comedy of life through his daily interaction with clients and colorful array of friends, in the city, and throughout his life.
Always a youthful and comedic personality, Arthur loved to be the center of attention and enjoyed entertaining people. He enjoyed traveling, ocean cruises, the Brooklyn Dodgers, then the New York Mets, Sinatra and big band music, bowling and Brooklyn style pizza. He especially enjoyed recording music and television and then sharing his extensive library with others. When gathering with friends, you can bet he had his karaoke machine.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Martha Ross and is survived by his children, Adam Ross and Michelle Ross, two grandchildren Sydney and Anthony Murano, brother Bruce Ross and his wife Marian, as well as his longtime companion, Linda Jacobs.
A celebration of Arthur’s life will be held Saturday, June 1st, 12 PM, at the Locust Hill Community Clubhouse, 1 Allinson Way, Hamilton, NJ 08694. Friends are encouraged to share memories and stories of time spent with Artie. As he would wish, the karaoke machine will be available for anyone who prefers song over words. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are respectfully requested to the Public Broadcasting Network, which was close to Arthur’s heart.
Artie was a dear, devoted lifelong friend. We will miss him very much. He was so entertaining and witty but most of all he was always there for you. Rest In Peace Artie!

Dear Adam and Michelle, Ross Family and friends, may you find comfort in knowing that your dear one, Arthur, is safe in the memory our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah God (Ps. 83:18), who will remember every detail about Arthur and bring him back in the upcoming Resurrection. Acts 24:15. JW.org.
Adam and Michelle — I worked with Art in New York when he seemed to know just what secretaries would fit in the public relations agency I worked for. We became good friends after I left my job in the city and he and Linda Weise were special people in my life. When I moved to Washington State we still kept in touch and recently when I sent an email and there was no reply, and then a phone call tonight, I realized that another one of my good friends has gone to be in a more peaceful and beautiful place. I remember meeting Adam when you came to my condo in Highlands for dinner and also enjoyed the pool. Art was always there for me with his kindness, especially when my son, Keith, died. My love to both of you. You were such very special people in his life. Janet Read
