PRINCETON… Mildred “Mimi” Blaine Gershen, 91 of Princeton passed away peacefully on December 28, 2018 of natural causes. Born in the Bronx, NY, to Arthur M and Francis P Blaine, Mrs. Gershen was Pre-deceased by her husband Alvin E. Gershen, brother and sister-in law Rabbi Allan and Suzanne Blaine.
A graduate of Hunter College with a BA in History and Political Science, Mimi was the President and co-founder of The Gershen Group, Princeton, NJ and worked side by side with her husband in the property management field for more than 50 years. Mrs. Gershen was honored by the Israel Cancer Research Fund as a Woman of Action and received the Pioneer in Affordable Housing Award from the New Jersey Affordable Housing Management Association.
Mimi is survived by her children Dr. Reva Gershen Lowy and William J. Lowy, Dr. Ruth S. Gershen and Rabbi Hillel Gold, Eta Gershen and Steven B. Cohen, Elana L. Gershen and Rabbi Joshua S. Finkelstein, Deborah “Dodi” and Dominic Gennello and Jonathan and Ilene Gershen; as well as her grandchildren Jenna and her fiancé William Becker, Adina and her fiancé Aaron Goss and Matthew Lowy; Tziporah, Tamar, Avraham, Merav, Akiva and Elisheva Gold; Micah, Ethan, Avi and Talia Cohen; Sarah, Eli, and Rebecca Finkelstein; Arieh, Michael, Ezra and Jared Gennello; Alexander, Adam and Danielle Gershen and her niece and nephew Deena and Michael Seelenfreund and Ari and Simi Blaine and their children.
Funeral services are Sunday, December 30th at 10:30 A.M. at The Jewish Center of Princeton, 435 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ. Interment to follow at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, NY.
