TRENTON… Eileen E. Silverstein, 82, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018.

 

Born in New York, NY, she spent most of her life in Brooklyn. She attended the Fashion Institute of Design and the Community College of New York. She met her husband, Allen, in New York City in 1956 while he was serving in the United States Navy.

 

Mrs. Silverstein loved working at the United States Life Insurance Company, where she spent 28 years. She enjoyed teaching children, and loved collecting dolls of all kinds. She was fond of animals of every variety and loved gardening – her favorite flower was the rose.

 

Mrs. Silverstein was a long-time member of Temple Isaiah in Queens, NY, where along with her husband, she created the PTO and helped to restore the library. After relocating to New Jersey, they were active members at Temple Shalom in Levittown, PA.

 

Wife of the late Allen Silverstein, she is survived by two sons David and Jamie Silverstein, two daughters Mindie Bittner and Lisa Silverstein, a brother Stewart November, five grandchildren Michael, Michele, Steffanie, William and Allen, and one great granddaughter Sage.

 

Funeral services are Wednesday 11AM, January 31, at Shir Ami, 101 Richboro Newtown Road, Newtown, PA. Burial will follow at King David Memorial Park, Bensalem, PA. The period of mourning will be observed Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the home of Mindie Bittner in Yardley, PA. The family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
