WEST WINDSOR… Donald Becker, 78, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017.

Born in the Bronx, he grew up in Brooklyn and Jackson Heights, New York. A graduate of the Rhodes High School, he played clarinet in the orchestra. After attending Queens College, he served in the Army for three years. When he returned to New York he attended City College, residing with his wife in Forrest Hills. The two of them moved to Bergen County, New Jersey, later relocating to Twin Rivers for 30 years, and then to Village Grande in West Windsor where they resided these past 17 years.

Donald was an avid baseball fan and had a passion for photography. He was a skilled gardener – his specialty was tomatoes. He volunteered at Congregation Beth Chaim and with the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Leader.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Becker, two sons, Michael Becker and Steven Becker, a sister and brother in law, Judith and Martin Gang, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Trudy Eatroff, as well as many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and many dear friends.

A funeral service will be held 11AM Thursday (June 1) at Congregation Beth Chaim, 329 Village Road East, Princeton Junction. Interment is private. The period of mourning will be observed at the Becker residence immediately following the service, as well as Thursday evening 7pm – 9:30pm, and Friday morning from 10am – 3pm. The family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County.
